Recently, a study was conducted in New York and a strange truth came into light as a result. Researchers have found that if pregnant ladies are highly exposed to pollutants, it may cause severe behavioral troubles for their kids who are going to take birth soon. Thus a study was carried out on about 200 children who were under observation since their birth. It was found that the kids, who had more level of pollution exposure in their samples from umbilical cord blood cells, were having more problems. These troubles included anxiety and depression at the age of seven years or even less.
Few scientists are working to find out how chemicals present in the cord affect the complete life of rising womb. One group also calculated the pollutant outlines of mainly PAH, i.e. Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons and some other ignition chemicals in newborn’s cord blood. When the pregnant mother inhales, the pollutants move through placenta and connect to womb’s DNA. Then it makes blood and some other tissues which are helpful to find out a biological computation of the chemicals. The kids who are found to have high amount of chemicals in their cord blood cells stumble upon more troubles in behavior. It is the major reason why scientists recommend the parents to bank their baby’s cord blood at birth time. They have found innumerable elements there, which have aided in discovering many treatments against many diseases up till now.
In urban cities, pollution is a major problem and therefore urban air has many pollutants in it. So, the pregnant ladies living in big cities have to be a little more cautious, as it is the question of their child’s well being. The study on cord blood cells is getting more apprehension due to the increasing troubles of anxiety and depression.
